The app

Strand doesn’t collect anything. It has no account, no analytics and no advertising, and it never connects to the internet. It works exactly the same in airplane mode.

It uses the microphone to hear your instrument. The sound is measured on the phone as it arrives and then thrown away. None of it is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.

Your settings, like your tunings and reference pitch, are saved on the phone so they’re there next time. They only leave it as part of your phone’s own backups.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from anywhere else. Even the fonts are the ones already on your device.

The server that hosts pyite.org may keep ordinary access logs, which record things like your IP address and the page you asked for.
